The Night Bookmobile
By Audrey Niffenegger
Abrams ComicArts, 2010. 40 pgs. Nonfiction
One night a woman encounters a disappearing library on wheels that contains every book she has ever read, but seeing her most intimate self in this library, her search to once again find the bookmobile turns into an obsession.
This graphic novel for adults is an interesting story about the love of books. I liked the premise of the book, but was a little disturbed by the twist at the end of the book. A short read, but not meant for children.

Though a little dark at times, this book has a very dreamlike quality where things are a little strange and not everything made perfect sense, but it worked. It’s a book that really made me think about my own life and passions/obsessions. This graphic novel is all in color, and while the pictures really added to the story, I didn’t feel like they were anything spectacular on their own. In the afterward, the author mentions that this book is the first part in a larger work, and I’d be curious to see where she takes the story next.
