Anne’s father and older sister are snobs and look down on Frederick Wentworth, but it is Anne’s godmother who ruins the match. The story then jumps ahead several years. Wentworth, now a captain who has made his fortune meets Anne again and finds himself slowly being drawn to her tenderness and wisdom all over again.
This novel spends more time on parts of the story that are glossed over in Persuasion. If you enjoyed reading Persuasion, then you will want to read this book. There is nothing better than re-experiencing a loved book.
